All-America quarterback Bill Cline connected with Pete Crane on a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, lifting East Carolina to a 14-13 win over Massachusetts.
Cline led the Pirates on scoring drives of 44 and 91 yards and earned MVP honors for his efforts. The Minutemen had two opportunities to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Pirates’ defense shut them down for the one-point win.
