In a tough defensive battle, Morgan State defeated West Chester 14-6 in the 1966 Tangerine Bowl.
Morgan State scored on an 11-yard pass interception to build a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter. West Chester cut the Bears’ lead to 14-6 on a touchdown pass from Jim Haynie, but an attempted onside kick with little time left was recovered by Morgan State to seal the win for the Bears.
