Aaron Murray set a bowl record with five touchdown passes as Georgia overcame Nebraska in a 45-31 shootout.
The Cornhuskers took a 31-23 lead on Rex Burkhead’s second TD of the game with 9:42 left in the third quarter, but Georgia tied it up heading into the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs added two more touchdowns in the final frame to secure the victory. Murray passed for 427 yards along with his five touchdowns to earn MVP honors. Georgia’s win was their fourth Citrus Bowl victory, tying them with Tennessee for the most all-time.
Nebraska finished 10-4 on the season, while Georgia completed its first 12-win campaign since 2002.
