Vrbo Extends Title Sponsorship of Citrus Bowl
Vrbo®, the go-to place for families and friends to book vacation homes, cabins and condos, announced today the renewal of its title sponsorship of the Citrus Bowl, continuing its relationship with ESPN and Florida Citrus Sports (FCS).
“Connecting families and giving them memorable experiences together is core to everything we do at Vrbo,” said Judy Kay, senior vice president of strategy at Vrbo. “We are thrilled to team up with Florida Citrus Sports again because of their dedication to serving children and families in the Orlando community.”
Vrbo’s multi-year extension of its contract with ESPN and FCS will prominently feature Vrbo in multiple promotions at the football game. VRBO began its relationship with FCS in 2019. Since then, it has changed its name from VRBO to Vrbo (pronounced “ver-boh”) and has become Expedia Group’s primary global alternative accommodations brand.
“We’re fortunate to be located in the middle of the country’s top vacation destination, and tourism is at the heart of everything our organization does,” Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan said. “With Vrbo, we’ve found the perfect partner for the Citrus Bowl, and we look forward to growing together over the next several years.”
The 74th edition of the nation’s seventh-oldest bowl game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on New Year’s Day on ABC. The game has traditionally featured top teams from the Big Ten and SEC with occasional appearances by the Atlantic Coast Conference. Beginning with the 2021 game, the Vrbo Citrus Bowl will feature teams exclusively from the SEC and Big Ten.
