Miami of Ohio traveled to the Sunshine State to win its third-straight Tangerine Bowl as it plucked the Gamecocks of South Carolina 20-7.
Sherman Smith and Rob Carpenter provided the spark for Miami as Smith passed for 137 yards and Carpenter rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Carpenter, recording his second consecutive 100-yard rushing performance, also earned Most Valuable Back honors.
