Oklahoma State running back Terry Miller carried the offensive load by rushing 23 times for a bowl record 173 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the Cowboys to a 49-21 win over BYU.
The Oklahoma State defense intercepted BYU quarterback Gifford Nielsen a bowl record four times. Despite the loss, the Cougars had one shining moment – a Bobby Lowery 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown — a Tangerine Bowl record that still stands today.
