In his last game as head coach of LSU, Charlie McClendon led the Tigers to a 34-10 victory over Wake Forest.
Tiger quarterback and game MVP David Woodley ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as LSU cruised to the easy win. It was a tough day for ACC Player of the Year Jay Venuto, who had three passes intercepted. The Tigers defense held the Deacons to just 30 yards on the ground.
Notably, McClendon became Executive Director of the Tangerine Sports Association the following year.
