Clemson used a surprising passing attack to down Penn State, 35-10, before a record crowd of over 53,000. 

Rodney Williams, who passed for 214 yards, was named the game’s MVP. Terry Allen rushed for 105 yards and a 25-yard touchdown for Clemson and Tracy Johnson ran for three Tiger touchdowns as Clemson amassed 499 total yards on the afternoon. 

Two Penn State turnovers inside the Clemson 10 took the air out of head coach Joe Paterno’s Nittany Lions.
