Illinois quarterback Jeff George passed for 321 yards to pace the Illini to a 31-21 win over Virginia in the 44th Florida Citrus Bowl.

The junior quarterback earned MVP honors after completing 26-of-38 passes for three touchdowns. George and Mike Bellamy connected eight times for 166 yards and one TD. Shawn Moore, who accounted for more than seventy percent of Virginia’s offense, led the Cavaliers
