In his last game as a South Carolina Gamecock, QB Connor Shaw threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns as the Gamecocks defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 34-24 in front of a crowd of 56,629.
Shaw hit Bruce Ellington and Shaq Roland six times for 140 and 112 yards, respectively. Shaw accounted for all five of South Carolina’s touchdowns by adding a rushing and receiving touchdown to his three through the air.
Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave finished 9-13 with 80 yards and two TDs before he got hurt in the third quarter. Running back Melvin Gordon finished with 1,609 yards while James White rushed for 1,444 yards.
They are the first teammates in FBS history to rush for at least 1,400 yards in the same season.
