2019 Citrus Bowl Set For New Year’s Day

The Citrus Bowl will return to its traditional New Year’s Day slot and be played at 1:00 p.m. ET on January 1, 2019.

The game will be televised live on ABC and played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

In the new “College Football Playoff” era of college football’s postseason, the Citrus Bowl will continue to host the top Big Ten and SEC teams from outside the CFP series of bowls (including Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, Cotton and Peach). In years where a Big Ten team is assigned to play in a non-semifinal Orange Bowl, “Orlando’s New Year’s Classic” will host the top non-CFP selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference against the top non-CFP selection from the SEC. Because the Orange Bowl hosts a CFP semifinal game this season, the Citrus Bowl’s traditional Big Ten/SEC matchup will continue.

In last year’s game, Notre Dame stunned LSU with a 55-yard touchdown by WR Miles Boykin with 1:28 to play, giving the Fighting Irish a 21-17 victory.

Sideline and club tickets for the 2018 game are now available as part of Florida Citrus Sports membership ticket packages. General public ticket sales will start later this fall. Join our mailing list to be among the first to learn about ticket information.
