Michigan would tie Penn State with the most Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl appearances by a Big Ten team (five) if they appear in 2016. The Wolverines were last in Orlando in 2008 when they defeated Florida 41-35. Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has the Michigan – Florida rematch projected for the second straight week.
The Wolverines’ other projected opponents, LSU and Georgia, are familiar with the Citrus Bowl. LSU would be making its fourth appearance, first since 2011, and Georgia, who has the most appearances by an SEC team with six, would be making its seventh appearance and first since 2012.
Michigan State, one of the other two Big Ten projections, would be making its fourth appearance in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl but the first since 2011.
They are projected to face three different opponents, two of which would be making their Citrus Bowl debut. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are two of five SEC teams to have never played in Orlando.
For the second straight week, Pete Fiutak of Campus Insiders has Wisconsin in the Citrus Bowl. The Badgers would be making its fourth appearance in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl and most recently in 2014.
