With a 34-17 victory over Kentucky on Saturday, defending SEC champ Georgia has clinched another SEC East crown, locking in another trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game next month. The Bulldogs will be making their seventh appearance in the game after going 6-0 against the SEC East for the second straight season.
Georgia came into the game ranked 13th nationally in scoring defense (16.3 points per game), while the Wildcats ranked first nationally at 13.0 points per game. Georgia’s 34 points were the most points the Wildcats have allowed in a game this season.
Georgia was paced by its run game all afternoon and finished with 331 yards on the ground, while the Georgia defense held Benny Snell Jr. and the Wildcats to 84 total rushing yards. Bulldogs sophomore running backs Elijah Holyfield and D’Andre Swift finished with a career-high 156 yards and 115 yards, respectively.
Kentucky travels to Tennessee next Saturday while Georgia will host Auburn between the hedges.

Spencer Evans hit a 25-yard game-winning field goal with 8 seconds to play as Purdue defeated No. 16 Iowa 38-36 on Saturday to earn its third win this season against a Top-25 opponent. This is the first time since 2003 that the Boilermakers have defeated three ranked teams in a single season, and the team has now won five of its last six games to move within one game of division leader Northwestern.
Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley threw for 275 yards with one TD and ran for another, but the conference’s No. 2 scoring defense allowed a season-high point total in the loss.
Boilermakers quarterback David Blough set the tone as he led his team to scores on their first two drives, dropping in a 36-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Zico before Markell Jones scored on a 1-yard run. Iowa responded, and the teams entered halftime with Purdue leading 21-17.
Blough started the second half fast, finding Wright for an 82-yard touchdown pass on Purdue’s first offensive play, then hooked up with Wright again on a 3-yard scoring play to make it 35-23 late in the third quarter.
Iowa got within 35-30 on Mekhi Sargent’s 1-yard TD run early in the fourth and eventually took a 36-35 lead when Sargent scored on a 1-yard run following Blough’s second interception of the day. However, the Boilermakers responded by driving down the field to set up Evans for the game winning kick.
The Boilermakers outgained Iowa 434-393 in the game, with 333 yards coming through the air. Blough finished 23-of-32 for 333 yards and four touchdowns. The 36 points scored by Iowa were the most points scored in a loss since falling 44-41 at Iowa State in 2011.
The Boilermakers hit the road next week to take on Minnesota while the Hawkeyes will look to bounce back at home against Northwestern.

In front a crowd of 111,747, Michigan held Penn State and its high-powered offense to just 186 yards en route to a 42-7 win at the Big House on Saturday.
The Wolverines limited Penn State to 68 yards rushing, well below the 225.4 yards a game the Nittany Lions were averaging. U-M also controlled Penn State’s air attack, allowing only 118 yards after Penn State averaged 234.1 passing yards prior to Saturday’s game.
On the other side of the ball. The maize and blue racked up 403 total yards of offense. Running back Karan Higdon led the Wolverines ground attack finishing the day with 132 yards and one touchdown. Michigan is 34-0 when rushing for 125 yards or more under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Michigan will look to stay hot as the Wolverines travel to face Rutgers next Saturday while Penn State hosts Wisconsin.
Auburn upsets Texas A&M
Auburn scored two late touchdowns to overcome a 10-point deficit and defeat No. 25 Texas A&M 28-24 Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers are now 8-0 coming off an open date under head coach Gus Malzahn.
Trailing 24-14, Noah Igbinoghene intercepted Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel, and gave Auburn possession at its own 29 with 7:14 remaining. Jarrett Stidham then completed five passes – including three to Darius Slayton for 43 yards – to give Auburn first-and-goal at the 1. Chandler Cox scored on the next play to cut A&M’s lead to 24-21 with 5:14 to play.
On the ensuing possession, Auburn forced a Texas A&M punt, which Christian Tutt returned 28 yards to Auburn’s 42. On the next play, Stidham hit Ryan Davis up the middle for 47 yards to the Aggies’ 11. From there, Stidham connected with Seth Williams for the game-winning score with less than two minutes remaining. Stidham finished 18 for 29 for 239 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Auburn hits the road for a showdown with Georgia next week while the Aggies will look to bounce back when they host Ole Miss
Missouri upsets Gators at The Swamp
Missouri defeated No. 13 Florida 38-17 Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium – Mizzou’s first road win at a top-15 opponent since 2014, when the Tigers defeated No. 13 South Carolina in Columbia.
Mizzou jumped out to a 21-3 lead early, but Florida scored late in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 21-10 at halftime. The Tigers then forced stops on Florida’s first two possessions of the second half and countered with TDs of their own to put the game away.
Mizzou senior quarterback Drew Lock threw for 250 yards on 24-of-32 passing with three touchdowns. He improved his career passing TD total to 90, moving him past Florida’s Tim Tebow and Chris Leak (88) and Tennessee’s Peyton Manning (89) on the SEC’s all-time list. Junior RB Damarea Crockett also had a big night, rushing for 114 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown.
Mizzou takes on Vanderbilt at home next week while Florida will host South Carolina.

Northwestern played No. 4 Notre Dame to a 7-7 deadlock through two quarters Saturday, but Irish quarterback Ian Book’s second-half performance provided the spark needed to lead the Domers to a 31-21 triumph at Ryan Field.
Notre Dame outgained the Irish 209-32 in the third quarter, and while Wildcats responded with 14 points to open the fourth, it was Book who sealed the win with a 23-yard touchdown run with 2:45 remaining.
Notre Dame registered 464 yards of total offense to Northwestern’s 249, and Book finished 22-of-34 for 343 yards and two passing touchdowns while contributing 56 yards on the ground. Notre Dame plays host for Florida State next Saturday while Northwestern travels to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes.
