Big Ten & SEC Weekend Preview: Florida-LSU Hurricane Matthew Makeup Game Tops Week 12 Schedule

In the 12th week of the college football season, members of the Florida Citrus Sports Team Selection Committee are making visits throughout Big Ten and SEC country, meeting with fans across both conferences in advance of the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on December 31st.

#23 Florida at #16 LSU at 1:00 p.m. on SECN/ESPN

The SEC East Division-leading Florida Gators (7-2, 5-2 SEC) travel to Death Valley to face their final conference opponent of the regular season, LSU Tigers (6-3, 4-2 SEC). The game was moved to Baton Rouge after the originally-scheduled matchup set for Gainesville was postponed by Hurricane Matthew in early October. The Tigers have been tough to play at home this season, with their only loss coming to top-ranked Alabama by a 10-0 score. The Tigers knocked off Arkansas on the road last weekend, 38-10, to stay even with Auburn for second place in the SEC West behind Alabama. The Gators sit alone atop the SEC East with their only loss in the division coming on the road in Knoxville. Florida has only played three road games this season, going 1-2 in those matchups. The Gators hold a 31-28-3 advantage in the series but the Tigers have won the past three meetings.

Indiana at #3 Michigan at 3:30 pm on ESPN

Michigan (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) return home for their final game at the Big House this season to host an Indiana (5-5, 3-4 Big Ten) team that is looking to become bowl eligible in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1990-91. The Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season on the road against Iowa last week but did not fall out of College Football Playoff contention. However, Michigan starting quarterback Wilton Speight broke his collar bone against Iowa and could miss the rest of the season. The Wolverines have been dominant at home this season, outscoring opponents 322-73 in seven games. The Hoosiers took Penn State to the wire in their last outing but fell short, losing 45-31. Despite trailing in the series 55-9, the Hoosiers took Michigan to overtime at home last season before the Wolverines clinched the 48-41 victory. Michigan has not lost in the series since 1987, while the Hoosiers’ last win in Ann Arbor came in 1967.

Missouri (3-7, 1-5 SEC) at #19 Tennessee (7-3, 3-3 SEC) at 3:30 p.m. on CBS
Maryland (5-5, 2-5 Big Ten) at #18 Nebraska (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten) at 12:00 p.m. on ESPNEWS
