Big Ten Week Two Preview

Three Big Ten teams head out west for non-conference showdowns in Week Two. Illinois (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) visits Arizona State (1-0, 0-0 Pac-12), Nebraska (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) heads to UCLA (1-0, 0-0 Pac-12) and Wisconsin (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) heads to Oregon State (0-0, 0-0 Pac-12). The Illini will miss starting quarterback while the Cornhuskers will be without running back Rex Burkhead. Wisconsin, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from an ugly win at home last weekend against Northern Iowa.

Purdue (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) looks to have their best chance yet of bringing home the Shillelagh Trophy since 2007 against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (1-0). Boilermaker quarterback Caleb TerBush returns from suspension to lead his team.

Iowa (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) takes on rival Iowa State (1-0, 0-0 Big 12) in Iowa City. After a close call against Northern Illinois, the Hawkeyes look to recover the Cy-Hawk Trophy from the Cyclones.

Northwestern (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) hosts Vanderbilt (0-1, 0-1 SEC) in prime time at Ryan Field. The Wildcats saw a comfortable lead slip away against Syracuse and needed a late touchdown to escape with a win. The Cardiac Cats may need more magic against a Vanderbilt team that took South Carolina to the wire in Week 1.

Penn State (0-1, 0-0 Big Ten) takes on Virginia (1-0, 0-0 ACC) on the road after last week’s tough loss to Ohio.

Michigan State (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) doesn’t have to travel very far to take on Central Michigan (1-0, 0-0 MAC).

Michigan (0-1, 0-0 Big Ten) returns home to meet Air Force (1-0, 0-0 MWC) and fix the problems that emerged in last week’s loss to Alabama.

Ohio State (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) will host UCF (1-0, 0-0 C-USA) in the first meeting between the two teams.

Minnesota (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) hopes to improve their record to 2-0 this weekend when they face New Hampshire (1-0, 0-0 CAA)

Rounding out the Big Ten match ups, Indiana (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) will head off to Massachusetts (0-1, 0-0 MAC).
