Capital One Bowl Weekend Spotlight
The SEC and Big Ten each have a marquee game this weekend as conference records
and head-to-head resumes shape up. With the first BCS poll now out, we keep
inching closer towards Selection Sunday.
The Big Ten’s big game is our Capital One Bowl Game of the Week: Wisconsin at
Michigan State. The Badgers’ trip to East Lansing in 2010 resulted in their only
regular-season loss. This weekend is their first game away from Camp Randall
Stadium and they will face a tough challenge from the Spartans. Fans can pick the winner on our Facebook page to win a pair of tickets to the Capital One Bowl.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, a trio of road games will test some potential
conference (and Capital One Bowl) contenders. Nebraska (at Minnesota), Penn
State (at Northwestern) and Illinois (at Purdue) will all look to keep pace with
the Legends and Leaders frontrunners.
The SEC’s biggest game features LSU hosting Auburn. The game became a little
more intriguing as the Bayou Bengals suspended a trio of key players, including
running back Spencer Ware and star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu. Auburn has already
stumbled in its attempt to defend last year’s SEC West division title, losing to
Arkansas two weeks ago. Another loss could take them out of the race for the
season.
Other big SEC games include Tennessee at Alabama and Arkansas at Ole Miss. In
addition to everything listed above, we’ll also have representatives at Army at
Vanderbilt and Indiana at Iowa.
