Week 11 Big Ten & SEC Preview: Alabama Faces Mississippi State, Georgia Takes On Auburn

Second-ranked Alabama (8-1, 5-1 SEC) is traveling to Davis Wade Stadium to face #17 Mississippi State (7-2, 3-2 SEC). The Crimson Tide defense cointained LSU RB Leonard Fournette in last week’s victory over LSU, but will have a different challenge this week in Bulldogs QB Dak Prescott. In the last three games alone, Prescott has thrown for over 300 yards and 10 touchdowns, while adding almost 200 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.  Alabama RB Derrick Henry threw his hat in the ring for Heisman Trophy contention with his performance against LSU. Henry rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns, bringing his season totals to 1254 yards and a nation’s best 17 scores.

Georgia (6-3, 4-3 SEC) will take on Auburn (5-4, 2-4 SEC) in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry on Saturday. Georgia’s quarterback situation is still in question as both junior Greyson Lambert and sophomore Brice Ramsey saw significant snaps in last week’s victory over Kentucky. On the other side of the ball, the Bulldogs’ pass  defense ranks first in the SEC, thanks in large part to sophomore DB Dominick Sanders. Sanders has four interceptions and nine passes defended, ranking him third and fourth in the SEC respectively. Auburn’s defense is coming off one of its best performances of the season, allowing Texas A&M only 10 points and forcing three interceptions.
