Week 13 Big Ten & SEC Recap: Ohio State Powers Through Michigan, Northwestern Wins Fifth Straight

#18 Ole Miss 38, #21 Mississippi State 27

The Rebels (9-3, 6-2 SEC) upended the Bulldogs (8-4, 4-4 SEC) Saturday, marking just the second time in 12 years the road team has won the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns, both to WR Damore’ea Stringfellow. Bulldogs Senior QB Dak Prescott completed 31 of 42 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, but the Rebels defense sacked Prescott seven times.

 

#8 Ohio State 42, #10 Michigan 13

The Buckeyes (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) topped the Michigan Wolverines (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) behind the wheels of RB Ezekiel Elliot. Elliot rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns, becoming only the second player for the Buckeyes to notch multiple 1,500-yard seasons. The Ohio State junior now ranks second in school history in all-time rushing yards with 3,812, behind only two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin.

 

LSU 19, Texas A&M 7

The Tigers (8-3, 5-3 SEC) defeated the Aggies (8-4, 4-4 SEC) in front of a home crowd of 101,803. LSU RB Leonard Fournette rushed for 159 yards and one score, becoming the school’s single-season rushing leader with 1,741 yards. A&M QB Kyle Allen passed for 161 yards and one score in the loss.

 

#16 Northwestern 24, Illinois 14

The Wildcats (10-2, 6-2 Big Ten) outlasted the Fighting Illini (5-7, 2-6 Big Ten) at Soldier Field on Saturday. Freshman QB Clayton Thorson threw for 146 yards and a touchdown for Northwestern, while RB Justin Jackson added on 172 yards and a score.

#18 Ole Miss (9-3, 6-2 SEC) defeated #21 Mississippi State (8-4, 4-4 SEC), 38-27.

Wisconsin (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) defeated Minnesota (5-7, 2-6 Big Ten), 31-21.

Georgia (9-3, 5-3 SEC) defeated Georgia Tech, 13-7.

Arkansas (7-5, 5-3 SEC) defeated Missouri (5-7, 1-7 SEC), 28-3.

Louisville defeated Kentucky (5-7, 2-6 SEC), 38-24.

Tennessee (8-4, 5-3 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (4-8, 2-6 SEC), 53-28.

Indiana (6-6, 2-6 Big Ten) defeated Purdue (2-10, 1-7 Big Ten), 54-36.

Maryland (3-9, 1-7 Big Ten) defeated Rutgers (4-8, 1-7 Big Ten), 46-41.
