Week 3 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl Projections

After an Ole Miss upset over Alabama, and an LSU win over Auburn, the media shifted its SEC bowl projections. Here’s what they project in week three for  the 70th annual Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Jerry Palm (CBSSports.com): Penn State vs. Georgia

Jason Kirk (SBNation): Michigan vs. Georgia

Brian Bennett (ESPN Big Ten Blog): Wisconsin

David Ching (ESPN SEC Blog): Texas A&M

Mark Schlabach (ESPN): Wisconsin vs. LSU

Brett McMurphy (ESPN): Michigan vs. Texas A&M

Pete Fiutak (Campus Insiders): Wisconsin vs. Texas A&M

Brad Crawford (Saturday Down South): Wisconsin vs. Alabama

College Sports Madness: Iowa vs. Mississippi State

Bill Bender (Sporting News): Wisconsin vs. LSU

After a crazy weekend in college football, the college football experts are trending toward four different Big Ten teams and five SEC teams.

Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama and Iowa are all new appearances in this week’s projections.

Texas A&M has never made an appearance in Orlando. The Aggies, along with 2015 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl Champion Missouri, were added to the SEC in 2012.

LSU has made three appearances in Orlando, most recently in a 2010 loss to Penn State.

Iowa has been to Orlando just once in 2005 when they defeated LSU 30-25 on a last-second Hail Mary pass in one of the greatest finishes in the game’s history.

Alabama has made two appearances in the Citrus Bowl with the last being in 2011 when the Tide defeated the Michigan State Spartans 49-7.

Penn State has the most appearances by a Big Ten team in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl with five but they haven’t been in Orlando since that 2010 game against LSU. On the other side, Georgia has the most appearance by an SEC team with six. The Bulldogs last came to Orlando in 2013 when they defeated Nebraska 45-31.

Michigan has four appearances in Orlando but none since 2008 when they defeated Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators 41-35 in head coach Lloyd Carr’s final game.

Of the teams projected, Wisconsin has the most recent appearance in Orlando, a 34-24 loss to ninth-ranked South Carolina in 2014.
