Week 8 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl Projections
After Ole Miss defeated Texas A&M, the Rebels found their way back into the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl projections. The media have three other favorites from the SEC to make it to Orlando. On the Big Ten side, the projections focus on three different teams.
Here are the latest projections for the 70th annual Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.
Jerry Palm (CBSSports.com): Michigan vs. Florida
Jason Kirk (SBNation): Iowa vs. Florida
Brian Bennett (ESPN Big Ten Blog): Iowa
David Ching (ESPN SEC Blog): Ole Miss
Mark Schlabach (ESPN): Michigan vs. Ole Miss
Brett McMurphy (ESPN): Michigan vs. Ole Miss
Bill Bender (Sporting News): Iowa vs. Ole Miss
College Sports Madness: Northwestern vs. Mississippi State
Bryan Fischer (Bleacher Report): Michigan vs. LSU
Pete Fiutak (Campus Insiders): Iowa vs. LSU
Ole Miss, who returns to the projections after a two-week absence, would be making its first Orlando appearance. The media has the Rebels facing Michigan, who would be making its fifth Citrus Bowl appearance, and Iowa who would making just its second.
For the second week in a row, Jerry Palm and Jason Kirk kept Florida as their SEC pick. The Gators would be looking to make its sixth appearance in the game and first since 2008.
Iowa, who is a perfect 7-0, received three media projections. The Hawkeyes would be making its second appearance with its first in 2005. Pete Fiutak of Campus Insiders actually has a rematch of that 2005 game, pitting Iowa against LSU.
The Tigers, also projected to Orlando by Bryan Fischer, would be making its fourth appearance, first since 2009.
For the fourth consecutive week, College Sports Madness has Mississippi State making its Citrus Bowl debut but once again the Bulldogs are matched against a different opponent. This week it’s a Mississippi State-Northwestern match-up. The Wildcats would be making their second Citrus Bowl appearance, the first being a 1997 loss to Peyton Manning and the Tennessee Volunteers.
