Malcolm Mitchell is Right Where He Belongs

Malcolm Mitchell is an all-around team player by definition, doing whatever his coaches need from him to give his squad the best chance of winning. Last offseason, that meant switching from his regular position at wideout to the other side of the ball and playing corner for Dawgs. The sophomore WR was called upon to play in the secondary after suspensions kept starting CB Sanders Commings and S Bacarri Rambo out for the first couple games. Mitchell played at CB […]

The Big Red Arrives In Orlando

“What’s your room number, bro?” For millions of college students across the country, that question brings back fond memories of friendships formed and lifelong bonds built. Wednesday night at the Peabody Hotel, nearly a hundred Husker “bros” were asking each other the same question. Nebraska has arrived in Orlando. Murray Only Needs One Leg To Win In Orlando

The last time Aaron Murray left the Florida Citrus Bowl, he walked out of it as a champion. In 2008, Murray led Tampa Plant High School to a 34-14 over Tallahassee Lincoln in the 2008 4A Florida state championship game. Oh, and he did it on one leg. “I had broken my leg seven weeks or eight weeks before that ,” Murray said. “I actually came back the week before and played in the semifinal game, we won that.” “I […]

Nebraska Aiming To Reverse Recent Bowl History

The stat trotted out most often during bowl season, regardless of the school, is a program’s record in bowls.  Whether or not the Huskers won the 1962 Gotham Bowl, a game played five years before Bo Pelini was even born, has no effect on this year’s game. But not all bowl history is relegated to trivia and tailgate trash talk. Recent bowl history, especially when the current players and coaches are involved, can indicate how the players might perform on […]

Georgia is 4-1 in the last five bowl games in Florida and posted […]

Huskers Looking For More Than Redemption In Orlando

Bo Pelini and the Nebraska Cornhuskers have been hearing a lot about how this year’s Capital One Bowl is about redemption. To a certain point, that’s true. It’s their opportunity to show that they’re the team that went 10-2 and played for a Big Ten Championship, not the team that Wisconsin soundly defeated in that same championship game. But a larger examination of the Nebraska program shows that so much more is riding on this game and this season. Pelini […]
